Grand Tetons Trip
What is camping without the s'mores and sticky kids?
We did a little bug control on the way there.
This year we went to the Grand Tetons and had a wonderful time. The weather was comfortable and the mountains were of course beautiful. We camped at Jenny Lake for a few nights and then our last night we stayed in a Tent cabin at Colter Bay Village. We did all sorts of fun stuff. We went hiking, swimming in the lakes, canoeing, and fishing. The best part of all was just being able to spend time with the family and relax.

Summer Swimming
MMMM....Pizza is so good!
For some reason Taiben loves to be silly in pictures.
Kaison loves jumping off the high dive!
We love to go swimming in the summer. It is nice to have a couple of close pools to swim in. This year Taiben has mastered swimming on his own and Kaison is getting more daring and doing the high dives and big water slides. Sayla is of course fearless and thinks she can swim but instead she just wears Mom out by not ever letting her relax by the pool side. This has been a great summer.

Bryce Canyon Half Marathon
Jeremy taking in the view!
We were too hot after the race to put our biker clothes on so we rode in our running clothes to breakfast. It just seemed a little odd.
The madness to find your time card at the end of the race.
The room, the bikes and me in the background.

On July 18Th I ran the Bryce Canyon Half Marathon, it was a very fun race. It was mostly downhill which made it easy on the lungs but the legs sure did take a beating! I ran with a good friend Tiana. She is such a good runner I hope some day to be as fast as her. I kept up with her the first seven miles but just couldn't do it any longer than that, so I slowed down. I still ran my fastest race which I was very happy about. The race wasn't the only highlight of the trip. We rode the Harley's down and the ride was beautiful but not as beautiful as Bryce Canyon itself. We went to the National Park after the race and looked at what we could without having to hike. It was scorching hot and hiking in the desert just was not appealing that day. But the vistas were awesome. It was a great weekend with great friends and of course being able to spend some well needed time with my hubby was the best!!

Boys New Room
The same week the boys were gone I got on the drive to redo their room, the only problem was that I had other projects that still needed to be finished. So I got busy and finally finished Sayla's bed which turned out super cute and then decided that one project was enough and went and got paint for the boys room. They had no idea I was doing it and I was excited to surprise them with their new room. I worked my booty off trying to get the room done in time and I did. It was tough because one of the colors I used took four coats. I got it done right in time and then left to pick them up in Salt Lake from Grandma and Grandpa. By the time we got home they were asleep and got to wake up the next morning to their new room. They loved it and have told everyone about how their Mom surprised them with a new room. I am so glad they liked it! I would post pictures but I don't have any and maybe that means it is time for you all to come and visit:) :)
Horse Parade
The past two years the boys have been gone at Grandma Raymond's during this same week in July so we get to take Sayla to the Horse and Hitch Parade. This parade is not like other parades, every entry is some kind of horse, and boy do they come in all different sizes. Sayla loves horses so she loves the parade. They only problem was after awhile the candy was much more fun than the parade. But what kid doesn't like candy.
